And news of another wonderful NPS event –

 

President Joyce Quin is planning to hold another President’s Day reception for NPS members and guests at the House of Lords, probably early in 2017.  As usual, precedence will be given to those who haven’t already been to one of these receptions but there may be room for all.  If you are interested in attending, please let the Secretary know, and the date will be confirmed when it has been arranged.  

 

 

Roy Hugman is selling his Heriot and Allan 7 key smallpipes.  Made for him and owned by Roy since 1997, they are in good, sound condition, regularly played, tuned and maintained.  Best offer over £1000 plus postage if needed.

Cleveland Branch playing at National Gardens Society Event – Hillside Cottages, Low Etherly, Bishop Auckland DL14 0EZ - Sun 9 Oct 2016 (12:30pm - 4pm)

A new venue for the Cleveland Branch Pipers. The gardens of these two 19th Century cottages offer contrasting styles. At Number 1, grass paths lead you through a layout of trees and shrubs including many interesting specimens. Number 2 is based on island beds and has a cottage garden feel with a variety of perennials among the trees and shrubs and also a wild area, vegetables and fruit. Both gardens have ponds and water features. Pipers will be playing from 2pm till 4pm

Cleveland Branch Meeting

Our meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at Ceddesfeld Hall Community Centre, Rectory Row, Sedgefield. TS21 2AE, County Durham, which is behind the parish church.The main meeting starts at 8.00pm in the main hall. This is an excellent venue with great acoustics and has been the Cleveland Branch home for many years now. If you are in the area do come along and join our friendly group to play or listen to the wide variety of tunes. Everyone, in turn, gets the opportunity to choose the tunes to be played if they wish.

Berwick (Spittal) Pipers meet at the Blenheim Hotel, Spittal TD15 1RD from 7.30 pm.

Cleveland Branch Playing Group

The Cleveland Branch Playing Group meet every 4th Wednesday of the month for practice upstairs at Ceddesfeld Hall, Rectory Row, Sedgefield. TS21 2AE, County Durham at 7pm till about 9pm. The playing group are a very active group with the aim of taking the Northumbrian Smallpipes and Northumbrian music out to the public. We usually have very busy year and have performed at many events such as festivals, National Garden scheme events, concerts, weddings, schools and fetes.  Pipers are very welcome to join us and play, though tunes and discussions are restricted to the playing group repertoire.
