Drone stock tie in

Postby bob Salter » Sun Jul 22, 2012 10:07 am

I have a new bag on the way. I am reasonably happy finding front to back position for the drone stock but is there any rule of thumb for top to bottom position of stocks? I dont want droopy drones. :D . Also curiosity begs me to ask, why is the tie in on the drone stock halfway? ie why is so much of the stock inside the bag?

Hi Bob

I have only see this amount of drone stock in the bag on Burleigh pipes. I cant think if any real reason for it. One possibility is to protect any long drone reeds and, as David mostly fitted old style cane reeds, the big D reed can be quite long. On my sets there is less than a quarter of the stock in the bag and that seems to work OK.
