Anybody used one of these, or seen one in use? How useful are they?

John Leistmann had one at the last count and he thought it wonderful.

I did a lot of tumble polishing when I was an apprentice scientific instrument maker. They will do a fine job although for me, I prefer to have nice sharp corners and I remember that all the corners became rounded.

Probably OK for an antique effect. And (I guess) similar to extreme buffing. But it's handing control to the random - I'm not inclined to try it.

Thanks for the replies. Mike and Francis make good points, particularly the possible loss of sharp edges.
