Hi, John and others,

What would you say to the idea of retaining the 'Primitive' category as a sticky thread, receptive to future contributions and in parallel to the changing monthly TOTM?

It's something that I'd like to be involved with, though at the moment I'm a bit post-surgical and not at my best!

Francis

Hello Francis,
I'm all for anything that will encourage more pipers to participate. Let's just say that anytime anyone wants to post a "primitive" tune in this forum we're all eager to hear it, regardless of the month.
The Secret Committee and I have decided we need to make the "assignments" broad as possible going forward, so hopefully there will a few "primitive" at least that fit within the category.

BTW, here is a mic for under $10, well under ten pounds, that would work for home recording onto a laptop of PC.

One more tune before moving on to the next assignment - Peacock's "The Peacock Follows the Hen".

I too use audacity - but in a slightly different mode than John describes. I record using a Tascam DR-07 which is a self-contained digital recorder; transfer to audacity, and then trim the (usually several...) unsatisfactory renditions, and apply a little dynamic range compression which seems to help soundcloud reproduce things better.

Squeezing another one in just under the wire, although as a sticky thread there's no rush now!
Anyway, my latest go at Cuckold:
