Cocks and Bryan half-longs

Postby MattMaier » Mon Jul 06, 2015 5:05 am

I'm planning on making a set of border pipes based upon the instrument detailed in the Cocks and Bryan book. The data is more or less complete for the drones but some key points are lacking in the drawing for the chanter, namely the throat diameter and the overall length of the chanter. This information is necessary for me in order to make the tools. Assuming the scale in the book is 1:1, has anyone measured the length of the chanter and does anyone know what the throat diameter is?
