Keeping up to date

Postby Barry Say » Wed Sep 14, 2011 10:40 am

Members of the Bulletin Board can keep up to date with their areas of interest by subscribing to Forums or Topics.

Subscribing to a Forum means that the member receives an e-mail when there is a new topic started.
Subscribing to a topic generates an e-mail when there is a new post on the topic.

To subscribe to a forum or topic you must be a registered user and logged in and visit the relevant page.
Go to the very bottom of the page where you will see a box with a tick and next to it the words "Subscribe ......" . Click on the words and they will change to "Unsubscribe ......" and the tick will change to a cross. You are now subscribed and will receive e-mails when new messages arrive.

If you see a cross you are subscribed. If you see a tick you are not subscribed. This seems the wrong way round to me, but I didnt write the software.

I hope this helps.

I do most of my other keeping-up-to-date via RSS - I believe there's an RSS thingy for phpBB, would it be possible to enable that?

Cheers,

Edric.
