As promised/threatened the ABC thread!
I think a .abc NPS facility would be useful on the society website – I use folktunefinder and the session.org sites if I do want an abc file but is amazing how often they are in a different key and sometimes need some editing anyway to fully align them with the NPS published version
The member written tunes are, of course not on any such site – Julia kindly circulated some last year - they must be ideal candidates for the NPS website?
I also note from the Autumn 2011 newsletter P2 that the ‘age of the music book is in fact coming to its close’ and that the use of the website might now be more appropriate – I assume .pdf and/or .abc files?
I for one think they can and should co-exist. The tune books are a handy size to carry around and give a consistent set of tunes for NPS playarounds – I much prefer that format to reams of A4 – or perhaps we should all get ipads and go paperless – not for me I am afraid!
