Welcome to the new Northumbrian Pipers’ Society website.
This year the NPS Committee decided it was high time that the Society’s presence online was brought up to date, to provide more and better information and resources to both our members and the wider public.
The developments have come in several stages, which have included the move from a printed to an e-newsletter, masterminded and managed by Susan Craven. The reins for this are now being handed over to our new volunteer, Charlie Forrest, and we are sure he will do a great job for our membership.
Tom Fairfax has also done some great work in building up our presence on Facebook with an official Society Facebook page. Independent of the Society, there is also the Northumbrian Piping Newsgroup on Facebook, which has taken over the function of our old discussion forum and features regular lively discussion, help and the now well-established Tune of the Month.
We also now have a fantastic YouTube channel, which as well as featuring video of our events and concerts, also has links to the many Northumbrian piping related videos across YouTube.
Finally, we now have a brand new website, designed for us by Andy Stephenson. The first stage of the launch is the public facing side of the site, and will be followed in the near future by a new and updated shop and members’ only area. We are very excited about the possibilities these new developments will bring, including making available online a whole host of material from our archives.
