Description
The New Shields Garland Volume II contains a whole selection of new tunes composed by Border Piper Iain Gelston, alongside some newly composed variations. The tunes in this collection were all written specifically for Border Pipes. Many of the tunes, however, are playable on a standard 7 key set of Northumbrian Small Pipes or on Scottish Small Pipes. With the addition of F natural keys Northumbrian pipers should be able to play almost all of the tunes in the book. All of the music is transcribed to be played on a G chanter as per historic pipe collections outside of the Highland Bagpipe tradition, making the music readily accessible to Northumbrian pipers.
